Cakes for Life goes healthy with the British 10k
I'm doing less baking these days, as I'm trying to lead a healthier lifestyle. As such, I've signed up to do the British 10k on 14th July and am raising money for Cancer Research UK. I need to raise £200, which would take the total you can see on the right hand side of this page to £790.22. Please donate generously.

Olympic sheep!
Cakes for Life has taken a bit of a break recently, but Hal commissioned me to make a cake to take to his office and pledged to donate £20. He wanted it to have an Olympic theme but also have some sheep on it to represent his company, Smartwool....
It was my first attempt at covering a cake with regal ice so it's not perfect but not bad for starters - practice makes perfect!

Cakes for Life Raises £1530.22!!!!
Thanks to a very generous donation from Timberland, the total raised has reached a smashing £1530.22. To celebrate, I've made some festive cupcakes to take to my new office and to Hal's office - no donations required this time!!!
Shout outs go to Hal for his help with the fondant snowmen, robins, Rudolph and holly, and to my sister Hayley for the inspiration for the chocolate Rudolph cakes. You can also see more pics on Flikr

Bank Holiday Bake Sale
Since the sun didn't grace us with its presence this weekend, I spent this afternoon slaving away in the kitchen to make two different kinds of cupcakes, as voted for by my colleagues at Racepoint: Cookies & Cream and Lime Meringue, both recipes courtesy of Primrose Bakery.
The Cookies & Cream ones are chocolate cupcakes covered in marshmallow icing and broken Oreo Cookies and the Lime Meringue cupcakes are lime flavoured cupcakes filled with lime marmalade (should have been lime curd, but couldn't find any...) and topped with meringue.
Because this will be the last bake sale I do at Racepoint, I pledge to match however much I raise in the office in the hope that I can meet my £500 target....

Summer bake sale raises £17.22
We've been having a bit of a heatwave in London so what better theme for this month's bake sale than 99 ice creams?!
I made vanilla cupcakes from the Primrose Bakery recipe book and topped them with fluffy white meringue icing.
See here for more pics :-)

Wimbledon Bake Sale
To mark the first day of Wimbledon, I've made some strawberries and cream cupcakes along with some little mini tennis balls. The large cupcakes were based on a Primrose Bakery recipe, filled with strawberry jam and topped with vanilla butter cream. The small ones are the same strawberry cupcakes but topped with lemon flavoured fondant icing.
